Prescribed Pediatric
Extended Care Program (PPEC)
Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) is an alternative to in-home
nursing for children with complex medical needs. Up to 12 hours of care
is provided per weekday, including after-school hours. Services include:

- Respiratory care
- Developmental and educational programs
- Nutrition
- Occupational, physical and speech/language therapy
- Social services
- Recreation
- Transportation

Access to medical care and physician
|
Services must be ordered by the primary care physician and authorized by
a Children's Multidisciplinary Assessment Team (CMAT) or private
insurer. A pediatrician and
ARND oversees care, while RNs and LPNs provide direct care. A team of developmental experts also provides
educational and recreational services.
The PPEC program is centrally located in northeast Broward County with
easy access to public transportation. |
