Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care Program (PPEC) Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) is an alternative to in-home nursing for children with complex medical needs. Up to 12 hours of care is provided per weekday, including after-school hours. Services include:     Skilled nursing Respiratory care Developmental and educational programs Nutrition Occupational, physical and speech/language therapy Social services Recreation Transportation ARNP Access to medical care and physician Services must be ordered by the primary care physician and authorized by a Children's Multidisciplinary Assessment Team (CMAT) or private insurer. A pediatrician and ARND oversees care, while RNs and LPNs provide direct care. A team of developmental experts also provides educational and recreational services.
