Broward Children's Center
has three group homes serving infants, children and young adults with
medical and/or developmental disabilities.
Two group homes are staffed 24 hours a day
depending on clients needs, including, certified nursing
assistants supervised by licensed nurses. Medical services include 24-hour access
to a primary care physician and to pediatric sub-specialists.
The Center's latest state-of-the-art group home is
Florida's only residential facility specifically designed to meet the
needs of cognitively intact young adults.
Residents attend school in the community or at one of our in-home
education programs and can receive necessary occupational, physical, and
speech therapy. Sensory stimulation, music, arts and crafts, cooking,
videos, movies, literature, park visits, shopping, and special event
activities are administered by activities personnel.
The focus of each group home is to maximize every resident's
participation in their home and local community. Caring and experienced
staff maintain a positive and respectful environment for residents,
families and visitors. Protecting the privacy, dignity and safety of the
residents is central to our mission.
